Welcome to your
perfect ceremony.
“If you are looking for a professional and supportive celebrant who will really listen to you and help create your unique ceremony, then read on.”
Congratulations on deciding to get married or celebrating your married life so far with a vow renewal.
My name is Susan Cairns and I am an accredited wedding celebrant.
I live in West Dunbartonshire but I am happy to travel within the West and Central Scotland.
After many years working in local government with families in communities across the West of Scotland, I realised my dream of becoming an independent wedding celebrant.

Stories
Having supported children and families through difficulties in their lives, I wanted to use all the skills and knowledge I gained along the way in connecting with people who are planning to spend the rest of their lives together.
I love being outdoors and spend many hours in my garden pottering about with my faithful companion- the cat! I spend many weekends in the stunning Scottish countryside with my husband in our beloved camper van, going for walks, visiting museums and eating outside when the weather and the midges allow it!
I believe in love in all its variety and colour and that each couple’s story is deeply personal and unique to them. So being a celebrant means I have the privilege to share in the journey so far and help craft a ceremony that reflects the individual personalities and beliefs of the couple.
I remember my own wedding day with great love and affection but recognise now that the ceremony didn’t really reflect us as a couple, our individual but differing beliefs and the journey we had shared so far.
This contributed to me choosing to be an independent celebrant who can offer each couple complete freedom and choice when creating the ceremony as there are no restrictions in terms of a particular belief system for me as an independent. So, if the couple have different faiths, or no faith, then both can be incorporated or not at all. It really is your choice!
My role as your wedding celebrant
In Scotland independent wedding celebrants cannot legally marry couples, so it is necessary for you to carry out the legal part at the Registry Office and then have your celebrant led ceremony with family and friends exactly how you dreamed it in the location of your choice. why choose
me?
I will share the laughs and perhaps some tears as we get to know each other and work together to give life to your very own ceremony.
If you each have differing faiths then we can have a prayer, hymn or symbolic ritual that reflects this into the ceremony or of you have no beliefs and want no mention of religion or faith, then that works too.
